Director, Product Education Engineering

📋 Description

• Own the technical education content roadmap aligned with product releases.
• Build Cursor's technical learning library: paths, labs, tutorials, workshops.
• Partner with Product and Engineering before launches to ship tutorials with new features.
• Help engineering teams evolve to company-wide adoption with rollout strategies.
• Define metrics beyond completion: activation, adoption, and developer fluency gains.
• Hire and develop education engineers; shape third-party course strategy.

🎯 Requirements

• 7+ years in technical education or developer relations at a developer-tools company.
• Hands-on with developer workflows, AI tooling, SDLC tooling, and CI/CD.
• Strong editorial judgment; reads code and critiques tutorials; strong opinions on good developer education.
• Uses AI coding tools extensively; ideally Cursor; core infrastructure.
• Customer-obsessed and cross-functional; translate tech to business impact with Eng, Product, CS.
• Comfortable in ambiguous, fast-moving environments where product changes outpace documentation.
• Bonus Points: Background in instructional design or learning science.
• Bonus Points: Experience building third-party education or partner certification ecosystem.
• Bonus Points: Familiarity with LMS platforms such as Skilljar, Thought Industries, or similar.
• Bonus Points: Experience managing video content programs (YouTube channels, tutorials).
• Bonus Points: Prior experience standing up a certification or credentialing program from scratch.
