Engineering Manager (Android / React Native) - Native Features

📋 Description

• Lead and coach a team of 3-6 engineers building native Android features inside Canva's React Native
• Manage native modules, lifecycle, memory management, performance, and the Android-React Native
• Partner with product, design and platform teams to shape roadmaps and plan cycles
• Champion performance and stability across the stack, focusing on startup time, jank, memory and
• Own end-to-end delivery of large cross-team initiatives with autonomy

🎯 Requirements

• Experience leading or mentoring engineers and helping people grow
• Deep hands-on Android experience in Kotlin (Java familiarity) with modern architecture and Jetpack
• Built and shipped React Native apps and understands the native-to-React Native bridge
• Strong knowledge of Android internals: lifecycle, memory management, threading, performance
• Solid CS fundamentals: concurrency, data structures, architecture, design patterns
• Ability to break complex problems into deliverable pieces and lead a team
