Hardware Systems Architect

📋 Description

• Own system path-finding and architecture across compute Anthropic deploys — from concept to
• Write and own high-level requirements and specs — system, board, interface, rack.
• Review partner designs, make build/buy/co-design calls, surface risks early.
• Drive interconnect and networking architecture tying systems together.
• Drive board-, chassis-, and system-level architectures with partners.
• Develop performance simulations and what-if scenarios for hardware choices.

🎯 Requirements

• Deep hands-on expertise in at least one core hardware-systems domain (interconnect, power, thermal).
• Experience owning hardware system architecture at scale and writing specs/requirements.
• Experience bringing hardware from architecture to bring-up and production deployment.
• Experience with external hardware vendors and ensuring designs meet specs.
• Ability to reason about cross-domain trade-offs (interconnect ↔ power ↔ thermal ↔ mechanical).
• Track record of technical leadership and autonomous work in fast-moving settings.
