IMS Tools & Database Specialist

📋 Description

• Install, configure, administer, monitor, and maintain IBM IMS and IMS Tools within Parallel Sysplex
• Perform IMS systems programming and database administration, including database organization, space
• Manage complex IMS database structures, including VSAM, OSAM, Full-Function, HALDB, Fast Path/DEDB
• Develop and maintain DBD, PSB, ACB, DBDGEN, PSBGEN, ACBGEN processes and support IMS Catalog and
• Establish and maintain procedures covering database management, disaster recovery, security
• Evaluate IMS upgrades, technical change requests, and potential impacts, providing recommendations

🎯 Requirements

• Proven experience administering and supporting IBM IMS databases and IMS Tools in enterprise z/OS
• Strong hands-on experience with IBM IMS Tools and IMS systems programming, including IMS database
• Knowledge of VSAM, OSAM, HALDB, PHDAM, PHIDAM, PSINDEX, secondary indexes, and other IMS database
• Experience with IMS Catalog, IMS Management of ACBs, Online Change, ACBGEN, DBDGEN, and PSBGEN.
• Strong understanding of database utilities, monitoring concepts, and database space management.
• Experience working with Parallel Sysplex and z/OS environments, including disaster recovery
