Investigations Specialist

📋 Description

• Analyze customer account data, on-chain/off-chain transactions to identify entities.
• Trace blockchains and assets across bridges, swaps, and smart contracts.
• Perform open-source and investigative research to gather vital data.
• Identify trends in abnormal or malicious activity to map networks.
• Document research steps, data sources reviewed, and conclusions.
• Review subpoenas, court orders, seizure warrants, and freeze letters.
• Liaise with internal teams and law enforcement to share case information.
• Train internal stakeholders on crypto threat typologies and techniques.
• Provide feedback to relevant departments to strengthen security.

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years in or supporting US federal law enforcement
• 3+ years in cybercrime, financial, or crypto investigations
• Proven track record in crypto investigations or technical assistance
• Strong on-chain tracing and blockchain analytics tools (Chainalysis, TRM Labs)
• Solid understanding of crypto and the differences between blockchains
• Familiar with DeFi protocols, including bridges, swaps, mixers, and smart contracts
• Excellent writing skills to clearly communicate findings
• Able to analyze large amounts of data
• Strong problem-solving and outside-the-box thinking
• Strong network with US and international law enforcement agencies
• Experience training law enforcement on cryptocurrency investigations
• Experience with subpoenas, court orders, seizures, or freeze letters
