ML Research Intern

• Join Modal's research team as a PhD ML/RL intern.
• Improve methods and develop new techniques for large-scale training and inference.
• Extend models to long-context and long-horizon tasks.

🎯 Requirements

• Currently pursuing a PhD in CS, ML, or related field.
• Demonstrated research in RL, ML, foundation models, or related areas.
• Experience developing and evaluating large-scale ML models or systems.
• Familiarity with distributed training, large-scale inference, or multi-GPU environments.
• Publications at NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, CVPR, CoRL, UAI, JMLR, or TMLR.
• Strong programming and engineering skills to translate ideas into implementations.
• Collaborative, mission-driven mindset across research and engineering.
