PhD Recruiter

📋 Description

• Manage full-cycle PhD recruiting for Engineering (Data, AI, Graphics, Security)
• Partner with Eng VPs/Directors to define PhD hiring strategy
• Lead Figma's presence at research conferences (e.g., NeurIPS)
• Own publication process for PhD roles with teams and leadership
• Mentor recruiters on PhD efforts, helping scale the function
• Build processes to scale PhD recruiting across the org

🎯 Requirements

• 6+ years of full-cycle tech recruiting in a high-growth org
• 3+ years focused on PhD/research hiring
• Track record of self-sourced PhD candidates via conferences, labs, and professor networks
• Experience building and running PhD programs
• Proven ability partnering with senior engineering leaders on high-priority scenarios
• Willingness to travel internationally to conferences, universities, and labs (~3-4 trips/yr)
