Principal Software Engineer - Identity & Access Management

📋 Description

• Own the vision/roadmap for Sezzle's authentication and authorization platform.
• Build scalable auth services and gateway components in Golang, AWS, and DBs.
• Lead zero-downtime migrations of auth traffic with rollback safety.
• Define auth standards: OAuth2/OIDC, JWT, token lifecycles, mTLS, RBAC/ABAC.
• Drive scalability across a distributed microservices architecture at the edge.
• Mentor engineers and champion secure-by-default patterns with Security/Compliance.

🎯 Requirements

• 12+ years of backend software engineering experience.
• Deployed significant production changes in the last 30 days.
• Deep expertise in authentication and authorization (OAuth2, OIDC, SAML, JWT, sessions).
• Design/operate an API gateway or auth proxy at scale (Kong, Envoy, AWS API Gateway, etc.).
• Proven track record leading large-scale service extraction or migrations.
• Strong Golang; RESTful APIs experience; SQL-based RDBMS (MySQL, PostgreSQL).
• AI-forward engineering experience and secure-by-default patterns.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
