Senior Backend Engineer II - IPC

📋 Description

• Contribute to technical design decisions for IPC services, balancing delivery speed with long-term
• Design, build, and operate backend services using Python + PostgreSQL, Go, and Java-based Drools
• Partner with other Bestow engineering teams on integration work across the platform
• Help build platform capabilities that scale with Bestow's growing partner ecosystem — new carrier
• Mentor engineers through code review, design review, and pairing
• Support production reliability: help maintain/improve SLOs, strengthen observability, share on-call

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years professional backend software development experience, at Senior level
• Strong proficiency in Go and Python; Java experience is a plus
• Solid experience with distributed systems, microservices, and API design (Protocol Buffers, OpenAPI)
• Comfortable with PostgreSQL or other relational databases at scale
• Hands-on with cloud infrastructure — Kubernetes, Docker, GCP (or equivalent)
• Track record of building, deploying, and troubleshooting production services end-to-end
