Senior Engineer, Competitive Benchmarking & Performance

📋 Description

• Own prioritized competitive benchmarking initiatives across search, vector and hybrid retrieval
• Build and maintain automated benchmark harnesses, datasets, query sets, and load profiles.
• Design fair comparisons with documented system versions and configurations.
• Evaluate latency, throughput, resource consumption, and cost efficiency.
• Adapt tools such as Elasticsearch Rally, ClickBench, and vector search benchmark frameworks.
• Investigate performance differences using profiling and experiments.

🎯 Requirements

• Solid software engineering skills with Python or relevant language.
• Experience evaluating and diagnosing performance in distributed systems.
• Depth in search, vector retrieval, analytics, or observability.
• Experience designing datasets and workloads.
• Experimental judgment for benchmarking.
• Experience with reproducible test environments.
