Senior Engineer - ML Systems (AI Products)

📋 Description

• Lead design and implementation of large-scale distributed AI systems.
• Own architecture decisions for flexible, cost-effective, robust systems.
• Direct strategy for distributed systems and manage technical debt.
• Mentor junior engineers and lift team capability.
• Collaborate across Xero to enhance data usability and productionize models.
• Build interfaces to productionize models from research.

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years building/operating production Python services at scale.
• Own production services/pipelines with on-call and incident response.
• Deep understanding of distributed processing (Spark/Dask) and SQL.
• Experience integrating ML models/LLMs into production with Applied Scientists.
• Familiar with ML tooling (MLFlow, TensorFlow, PyTorch) and Airflow/Prefect.
• Nice to have: experience applying or fine-tuning LLMs in product context.
