Senior Regulatory & Policy Counsel

📋 Description

• Monitor regulatory changes; translate into actionable guidance.
• Conduct risk analyses on regulatory developments affecting products.
• Lead engagement with policymakers to advocate policy and AI/regulatory issues.
• Partner with Product, Engineering to draft regulatory guidance and customer briefs.
• Own and improve Checkr's policy hub with updates and positions.
• Build relationships with trade associations and policy allies.

🎯 Requirements

• JD required with 8+ years in regulatory law, policy, or government affairs.
• Proven experience engaging policymakers, regulators at federal/state/local levels to shape policy.
• Track record in a highly regulated environment (consumer reporting, financial, healthcare, employment).
• Demonstrated ability to translate complex legal/regulatory analysis into clear guidance for leaders and non-lawyers.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration, judgment, communication, and bias for action.
• A-player mindset: ownership, urgency, resilience through ambiguity.
