Senior Software Engineer, Ledger

📋 Description

• Lead and own the engineering for the payments and ledgering systems at Alt
• Own the ledger as system of record, including immutability and audit trail
• Own rails and money movement: ACH, RTP, wires, cards, stablecoin settlement
• Build and manage payout flows, including instant and batch payouts
• Build reconciliation automation: automated matching, exception queues
• Design and scale lending infrastructure, lifecycle of loan management

🎯 Requirements

• Minimum 5+ years of experience in backend systems with Python, Postgres, AWS
• Proven experience with real money movement: ACH, RTP/FedNow, wires, or equivalent
• Hands-on experience with double-entry ledgers
• Experience handling large transactions with high-stakes failure modes
• Expert SQL and relational database design
• Deep understanding of webhooks, idempotency, and eventual consistency
