Senior Software Engineer, Media Creation

📋 Description

• Define backend architecture powering how Redditors capture, edit, and publish video and image
• Own backend infrastructure for media creation; build fast, maintainable APIs for real-time creator
• Contribute to full development cycle: design, development, test, experimentation, analysis, launch.
• Collaborate with product, design, and engineering teams to deliver impactful media tools.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote best practices across the team.
• Balance speed with quality in a fast-moving environment.

🎯 Requirements

• BS in CS or equivalent experience; 3+ years in large-scale distributed systems.
• 5+ years hands-on software development in Go, Python, Java, Ruby, C++.
• Experience with GraphQL, REST, HTTP, gRPC, and Thrift basics; API design skills.
• Experience with Redis and distributed caching; scalable data storage knowledge.
• Strong communication and ability to work in a fully remote environment.
