Senior Software Engineer - Security Libraries

📋 Description

• Design, build, and own security integrations and detections with .NET/Java focus.
• Take projects from prototype to production-ready; instrument thousands of apps.
• Own production telemetry: monitor WAF/RASP timeouts, performance, cost; debug issues.
• Shape the roadmap: define OKRs, break features for parallel work, RFCs.
• Partner with product, backend, and frontend to turn ideas into capabilities.
• Mentor teammates; raise the bar on code quality and testing.
• Represent Datadog in security communities.

🎯 Requirements

• Expert in .NET (C#) or Java; polyglot across libraries; write clean, tested code.
• Strong software-engineering fundamentals; ship modular, maintainable code.
• Product-engineering mindset; care about UX and outcomes; weigh trade-offs; decide what to build.
• Experience shipping libraries or SDKs; understand packaging, versioning, backward compatibility.
• Care about performance and cost; measure and optimize.
• Operationally mature; take accountability for what you ship in production.
• Clear communication; drive RFCs and collaboration; give feedback early.
• BS/MS/PhD in STEM or equivalent.
