Senior Software Engineer - Vector Search - Elasticsearch

📋 Description

• Lead initiatives to improve Elasticsearch vector search capabilities
• Design and implement new search features and enhancements
• Contribute to technical direction and vision for search relevance
• Collaborate with a globally distributed team across timezones
• Develop robust, scalable, and maintainable code in a distributed environment
• Own outcomes and drive projects from concept to delivery

🎯 Requirements

• Strong Java experience with solid knowledge of data structures and concurrency
• Hands-on experience with vector similarity, vector databases, and search relevance
• Familiarity with algorithms/libs like HNSW, IVF; experience with search platforms at scale
• Experience with Elasticsearch, Lucene, and a background in search/relevance
• Ability to work autonomously in a distributed team and communicate asynchronously
• Experience with multiple storage technologies (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Cassandra) a plus
