Senior Staff R&D Software Engineer, Fivetran AI

📋 Description

• Identify emerging AI research and set the Fivetran AI roadmap.
• Prototype ideas quickly and ship production features.
• Build and maintain backend and frontend systems for Fivetran AI.
• Own production reliability: on-call rotation and incident response.
• Define technical direction across Fivetran AI and partner teams.
• Mentor staff engineers and influence cross‑department decisions.

🎯 Requirements

• 10+ years of Python and/or Java; move between backend and frontend.
• Trusted expert beyond your department; influence decisions.
• Comfort reading AI/ML research and turning findings into prototypes.
• Experience with SQL and data warehouses (BigQuery, Snowflake, Databricks).
• Willing to work across the full stack: research, backend, frontend, SRE, QA.
• Experience using coding agents or AI tooling to speed up work.
