Software Engineer II, RVC

📋 Description

• Develop features for Newbook Websites: WordPress themes, plugins, and integrations.
• Use AI tools to speed coding, testing, and docs; review AI outputs for correctness.
• Frontend with JavaScript/HTML/CSS; React where appropriate.
• Integrate WordPress with Newbook and third‑party services via REST APIs.
• Collaborate with infra/platform teams on CI/CD, AWS, deployments, and monitoring.
• Improve performance, accessibility, SEO, and security; reduce tech debt.

🎯 Requirements

• 3–5 years of production software engineering experience.
• Hands-on WordPress experience: custom themes/plugins, hooks, block editor, REST API.
• Solid PHP and MySQL; strong JavaScript/HTML/CSS; TypeScript/React a plus.
• Experience shipping production software with reliability and maintainability.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools; evaluate and refine AI-generated code.
• Strong communication; collaborative; able to weigh tradeoffs; eager to learn.
