Software Engineer Intern (Summer 2027)

📋 Description

• Build and ship features across Steel's APIs, SDKs, and developer tools
• Improve the performance and reliability of browser infrastructure
• Build open-source demos showcasing AI agents and browsers
• Experiment with AI models, prompts, and agent frameworks to improve browser automation
• Work with containers, VMs, proxies, and distributed systems to scale browser sessions
• Debug and fix engineering problems to make Steel faster and more reliable

🎯 Requirements

• Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent
• Strong programming fundamentals and experience building software projects
• Comfortable writing code and learning new languages, frameworks, and tools
• AI-native: actively use AI coding tools and agents in development workflow
• Curious about how systems work and excited to solve challenging technical problems
• Able to take ownership, move quickly, and learn independently
