Software Engineering Intern (Modeling & Simulation) - Spring/Summer 2027

📋 Description

• Develop performant simulation code for 6 Degrees of Freedom (6DOF) Software-in-the-Loop (SITL)
• Develop user driven features and focus on scalability of our Monte Carlo simulation
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Flight Software, Human-Machine Interface (HMI)
• Design and implement physics-informed models that accurately represent hardware behavior and system
• Validate simulation accuracy by comparing model outputs with real-world flight data and refining
• Optimize simulation performance to ensure real-time execution and scalability across different test

🎯 Requirements

• Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Applied
• Proficiency in Julia or strong experience with scientific computing languages such as Python
• Understanding of 6DOF dynamics and simulation principles, especially in aerospace or robotics
• Familiarity with modeling physical systems, including hardware-in-the-loop or physics-informed
• Experience with data validation and analysis, including comparing simulation outputs to real-world
• Strong understanding of engineering first principles
