Staff Applied Research Scientist

📋 Description

• Work on vaguely defined problems where no proven method exists yet
• Transform ambiguous challenges into concrete, testable directions
• Build, train, and evaluate AI agents to validate new concepts
• Prototype quickly, stress-test assumptions, and collaborate with Forward Deployed Engineering to
• Analyze failures in the field, understand causes, and determine next steps
• Shape the research agenda, product roadmap, and evaluation practices

🎯 Requirements

• PhD in computer science, machine learning, or related field, or equivalent research/applied
• Three or more years of post-PhD experience, including work on production systems or close to real
• Ability to break down ill-defined problems, form hypotheses, and design experiments
• Hands-on experience implementing, training, and evaluating LLM-based systems and agent
• Experience designing evaluations: defining metrics, building test sets, analyzing failure modes
• Working knowledge of AI security and safety issues (prompt injection, data leakage, misuse)
