Staff Data Scientist

📋 Description

• Drive roadmap across Rider Segments, Loyalty, and Partnerships teams; set priorities.
• Partner with product, eng, UX, design, and marketing to scale zero-to-one products.
• Define and maintain objectives aligned with Rider, Marketplace, and Lyft goals.
• Apply modeling, analytics, experimentation, and causal inference to drive Lyft decisions.
• Drive cross-org impact and alignment via data-centered presentations.
• Advise teams on best practices; be a thought leader for stakeholders.

🎯 Requirements

• M.S. with 6+ years; or Ph.D. with 4+ years of relevant work experience.
• Degree in quantitative fields (econ, applied math, statistics, engineering); MS+ preferred.
• Proficiency in SQL; write structured and efficient queries on large datasets.
• Fluency in Python or R with data science and visualization libraries.
• Technical leadership experience with a team of DS; interfacing VP or C-level executives.
• Experience designing and analyzing complex A/B experiments; communicating results to cross-functional stakeholders.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Experience with ETL pipelines is a plus.
