Staff Engineer - Data Semantics

📋 Description

• Lead the Data Semantics team's technical direction; stay hands-on.
• Build and scale semantic infra bridging OpenTelemetry and telemetry.
• Drive schema evolution, telemetry standardization, and semantic interoperability.
• Partner with engineering and product teams to define standards.
• Mentor engineers through design reviews, operational excellence, and career development.
• Participate in on-call rotations and resolve complex production incidents.

• Experience designing and scaling large-scale data infrastructure.
• Staff-level impact via technical leadership and mentorship.
• Strong communicator; align across engineering and product.
• Product-minded with focus on customer outcomes.
• Comfort operating in ambiguous problem spaces; pragmatic execution.
• Knowledge of schema design and metadata systems.
• OpenTelemetry experience and observability tooling.
• Knowledge of knowledge graphs or AI-assisted tooling is a plus.
