Staff Software Engineer

📋 Description

• Own backend services end-to-end, including REST/GraphQL APIs and event-driven microservices (Kafka)
• Build and integrate microservices with ServiceNow platform applications
• Own a complex subsystem — set technical direction, make architectural calls, and carry operational
• Pitch in on UI work using a modern component framework
• Work closely with TPMs and business stakeholders to understand and help shape requirements
• Apply AI coding tools and agentic workflows day-to-day

🎯 Requirements

• ~8+ years of practical software engineering experience, including production systems owned
• Strong fundamentals: data structures, system design, REST/GraphQL, relational data modeling, testing
• Real, hands-on microservices experience, including event-driven architecture (Kafka or similar)
• Working front-end skills with a modern component framework
• Strong collaboration skills — comfortable working with TPMs and business stakeholders
• CI/CD, containers, observability, and L3 incident/support experience
