Staff Software Engineer (Cloud Provider Team)

📋 Description

• Lead the design of scalable backend APIs and services for cloud integrations (IBM Cloud)
• Collaborate with Product/Infra/Partners to capture requirements and design intuitive interfaces
• Guide Sysdig's managed cloud services, focusing on IBM Cloud
• Influence long-term architecture for IBM Cloud integrations (IAM, authn/authz, resiliency)
• Champion quality and clarity in system design, APIs, and data modeling
• Provide technical leadership through design reviews and mentorship

🎯 Requirements

• Experience designing distributed backend systems and APIs (data-heavy or high-throughput)
• Experience with cloud fundamentals (compute, networking, identity, security) and IBM Cloud specifics
• Experience with IAM and access patterns (OAuth/OIDC, JWT, RBAC); IBM Cloud IAM a plus
• Good grasp of SaaS operations and Kubernetes (deployments, scaling, observability and incident response mindset)
• Development experience in Java, Go, or similar languages
• Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL data stores (e.g., Postgres)
