Staff Software Engineer, Developer Infrastructure

📋 Description

• Own core developer infrastructure platforms, including CI/build systems and deployment
• Identify the group's highest-leverage problems, turn ambiguous and unscoped challenges into
• Drive step-change improvements to the metrics every engineer feels: build and CI wall time, deploy
• Lead strategic, cross-cutting initiatives end to end, including large-scale platform migrations
• Raise the reliability bar for developer infrastructure by owning SLOs, observability, and on-call
• Partner with engineering customers, EMs, and leadership across Coinbase to shape technical strategy

🎯 Requirements

• 8+ years building and operating production distributed systems, with hands-on proficiency in Go or
• Track record of designing and shipping high-impact backend or platform systems that many engineers
• Demonstrated technical leadership on cross-team initiatives: setting architectural direction
• Deep operational expertise with production systems where downtime has a broad blast radius
• Proven ability to drive alignment on ambiguous, cross-functional problems and to raise the
• Utilizes generative AI responsibly, maintaining human oversight to deliver business-ready outputs
