Senior VoIP Engineer, Axon 911

📋 Description

• Hybrid role with four days per week in Manhattan office
• Design and develop cloud-based voice infrastructure for SIP routing and call state management
• Integrate with telephony providers and PSAPs for end-to-end call reliability
• Drive major features and architectural evolution of the voice platform
• Collaborate with operations, networking, and engineering to ensure visibility and reliability
• Participate in on-call rotations or incident response for production voice infrastructure

🎯 Requirements

• Deep experience with VoIP/UC and SIP; can discuss protocol behavior
• Cloud platforms (AWS preferred); build distributed, fault-tolerant cloud systems
• Familiarity with FreeSWITCH and Kamailio; hands-on with these tools
• Comfortable in cross-functional teams; communicates technical complexity clearly
