Staff Backend Engineer (RWE) - Distributed Systems & Data Platform

📋 Description

• Act as a self-starter driving execution with minimal day-to-day direction.
• Lead high-impact backend and platform initiatives for large-scale healthcare data.
• Own architecture for backend services and distributed systems.
• Design and build scalable backend services, APIs, and processing systems.
• Partner with Product, Data Eng, AI/ML, and leadership to shape roadmaps.
• Mentor engineers and raise engineering practices across the organization.

🎯 Requirements

• 8+ years building scalable backend software, distributed systems, or platform infrastructure.
• Design scalable, reliable backend architectures with a focus on performance and maintainability.
• Python or another modern backend language; ramp to Python quickly.
• Experience building systems that process large data volumes or high-throughput workloads.
• Experience in cloud-native environments (AWS preferred) and deploying distributed systems.
• Experience with Spark, Kafka, Airflow, or similar distributed data tech is a plus.
