Staff Machine Learning Engineer, AI R&D

📋 Description

• Design, build, and ship personalization and recommender systems across Robinhood products.
• Partner with product, data engineering, and platform teams to drive multi-workstream strategy.
• Lead zero-to-one ML development: prototyping, iterating, and scaling models in fintech.
• Evaluate and integrate AI paradigms like agentic workflows and LLM fine-tuning into ML systems.
• Set technical bar via architecture and code reviews and mentor the AI R&D team.

🎯 Requirements

• 10+ years of ML engineering, with ranking, recommender systems, DL, and production at scale.
• Expertise in personalization and recommender systems end-to-end in high-traffic fintech or similar.
• Proven ability to deliver zero-to-one projects with production-grade impact.
• Experience with agentic systems, LLM fine-tuning, or modern AI paradigms and good judgment on when to apply.
• Master’s degree in CS or Statistics, or related field; strong Python and ML infrastructure tooling.
