Staff Software Engineer, Ledger

📋 Description

• Own the ledger as system of record: entries, lines, balances, holds, reversals, states
• Build and own payment rails: ACH, RTP, wires, cards, stablecoin settlement, and credit-push rails
• Own reconciliation: automation, exception queues, and catching discrepancies
• Own payouts and lending infrastructure: instant payouts, batch payouts, loan lifecycle
• Manage risk posture on high-value flows: holds, limits, settlement windows, and step-up verification
• Make build-versus-buy and trade-off calls; plan and coordinate with Finance, Risk, Ops, and Support

🎯 Requirements

• Has owned a double-entry ledger in production
• Has moved real money on real rails (ACH, RTP, FedNow, wires, or equivalent)
• Has handled large transactions where failures are five- or six-figure problems
• Database mastery: expert SQL and relational design; Python, Postgres, and AWS stack
• API-native: webhooks, idempotency, eventual consistency, reconciliation
• Has built real things with AI: agents, skills, MCP servers, connectors, internal tooling
