Staff VoIP Engineer, Axon 911

📋 Description

• Design, build, and maintain cloud-based 911 voice infrastructure (SIP routing, redundancy)
• Integrate telephony providers, PSAPs, and partners for end-to-end call reliability
• Drive major features and architecture evolution of the voice platform
• Collaborate with operations, networking, and engineering for visibility and reliability
• Participate in on-call rotations for production voice infrastructure
• Hybrid role: four days per week in the Manhattan office

🎯 Requirements

• Deep experience with VoIP/UC systems and SIP protocol; fluent in its behavior
• Cloud platform experience, ideally AWS; build distributed, fault-tolerant cloud systems
• Familiarity with FreeSWITCH and Kamailio; open-source VoIP tools
• Comfort working in cross-functional environments; clear technical communication
