Principal Engineer - Payments Products & Platform

📋 Description

• Shape technical strategy across multiple teams
• Partner with senior stakeholders to turn complex requirements into scalable, resilient systems
• Set the example for a portfolio of 40-50 engineers
• Drive engineering standards, architecture, and best practices
• Review existing payments systems to determine what to extend, migrate, or rebuild
• Design and analyse A/B tests to drive product usage

🎯 Requirements

• Deep experience designing and running large-scale distributed systems in production
• Payments or fintech experience preferred
• API-first thinking, fluent in at least one modern backend language (C#, Java, Go, or C++)
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL data stores
• Cloud-native platforms, ideally AWS
• Experience with legacy-heavy systems, making calls on extension, migration, or rebuild
